Camp Bluefields

Leave a wall alone for long enough and it becomes a canvas.

From 1909-1913, Camp Bluefields operated as a rifle range for New York’s National Guard until local families complained of bullets raining down into their homes. It was then converted into a YWCA summer camp for women from New York City. Reclaimed by the U.S. Army in 1930, the property remained in use until the end of World War II.

Since then the property has been left to be returned to nature.

Then came the spray paint.
